Design

Early designs included an interactive external play area, with patio for entertaining and enjoying the south facing views, with a children's slide from the patio to lower areas on to a soft play area. In time this changed to suit the changing needs, and thought was given to future use, by providing access to a new summer house.
The kitchen and dining area needed to be improved to make the area more accessible and user friendly, for the growing family.

Although the new extension was modest in size, due to the pitched ceiling, velux roof-lights, white painted finish and eye-height windows overlooking green views, the completed room boasted an airy and spacious feel, significantly improving the previous set up.

Brief

This project had a very tight budget and as such, it was about what could be achieved that met the requirements of the client, and offered greater space and flexibility within the home. Specific consideration had to be given to the young boy who enjoyed playing outside, with the outside garden area to be improved for access and security.

  • Soft play area
