The Occupational Therapist Show

The 2016 show was exceptional! Thousands of delegates swept the halls taking in all the knowledge of the exhibiting companies, from big brand names displaying lots of products to more independent firms offering advice and information. Being the UK's free largest OT Show to attend, there were plenty of Occupational Therapists, Case managers, students who were able to attend lectures in the numerous theatres throughout both days.

In addition, there were over 300+ exhibitors filling the halls showcasing their products and services. As a new exhibitor for 2016, interest was shown in France + Associates creative stand, showcasing simple, effective design using inexpensive materials. The architectural stand was made up of a timber frame with structural steel ties, with feature vintage light-bulbs lighting up our teams handywork.

Director Jonathan France commented: "The stand was an excellent example to demonstrate our use of simple and effective design, which is utilised across the board on projects that can typically attract clinical fittings and fixtures. Practising in the architectural industry, it is imperative to highlight that good design does not have to cost more, and that what is one solution doesn't have to mean it is the only solution".

Our ambition as a practice is to employ this approach on housing adaptations, extensions and new builds to provide well thought, homely environments. The client shouldn't have to be in a clinical environment in their own home, everyone deserves the luxury of their own home comforts while still being accessible.

All our visitors were welcome, but especially Frank the staffy from "Pets as Therapy"!

We met so many fantastic people who are a testament to the industry with their enthusiasm, creativity and passion! We can't wait to see what next year brings, hope to see you there!
