Office Manager, Sharon McAughey celebrates 6 years with France+Associates  

What are some of the most memorable moments you've experienced during your time with the company?  

I joined France+Associates six years ago when the company was much smaller. Back then, we all worked together in a small office. Witnessing the company's growth and our move to the larger building on Fitzwilliam Street has seen the team double in size. 

How has your role evolved since you first joined the team, and what new skills or experiences have you gained?  

I initially focused on Expert Witness work, particularly accommodation reports. Recently, I've taken on additional responsibilities in Property Finding, expanding my experience. Additionally, as the team has doubled in size, I now support a larger team with their general administrative needs.  

Can you share a specific project or accomplishment that you are particularly proud of and why?  

It is always rewarding to see a client move into a property I helped to find. Most recently, we handed over a property on Flowerpot Lane in Bradford to a client, which was a particularly proud moment. After we had done our part in finding the property, prepared a report for the Solicitor in support of the purchase, and taken the property to the point of purchase we then handed it over to the design team to take over the adaptations to the property to make it suitable for the client. It is rewarding and humbling to know that you have been part of a strong team that work hard to make this important chain of events happen. 

How has the company culture and environment influenced your professional growth and job satisfaction?  

The company’s growth has pushed me to develop new skills, such as attending meetings with clients, case managers, and colleagues to support property searches. Recently, I've also honed my interviewing skills alongside a colleague, Amy, contributing to the expansion of our administration team with the recruitment of Nicola and Sharlene.  

What advice would you give to new employees who are just starting their journey with the company?  

I've learned a lot during my time at France+Associates. It can feel daunting at first, but I’m always here to help. New employees can always reach out to me for support.
